When designing MGY Base, Eitaro Satake aimed to create a third place - a space where clients, business associates, and staff would feel comfortable and inspired to gather and work. The office is a reflection of the brand's personality, with a focus on uniqueness and playfulness.
What sets MGY Base apart is its resemblance to a secret base, a place that people are naturally drawn to. The office features a 6-meter-high main floor with a stunning glass facade, creating a semi-outdoor atmosphere. The use of wire mesh in the loft, industrial-style lighting, and iron and scaffold fixtures add to the secret base aesthetic.
One of the key considerations in the design of MGY Base was the importance of communication in the workplace, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The office provides an answer to this challenge, offering a space that promotes collaboration and interaction.
The technical specifications of MGY Base include a site area of 124.94 m², a building area of 73.70 m², and a total floor area of 124 m². The office is constructed using reinforced concrete, ensuring durability and stability.
MGY Base is not just a visually striking office; it also functions efficiently. As companies increasingly consolidate their offices in urban areas, the need for quality and design becomes paramount. MGY Base caters to this demand, offering a unique and inspiring workplace that fosters productivity and creativity.
Located in Tokyo, Japan, MGY Base was completed on September 15, 2018. The design has garnered recognition and acclaim, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2021. This prestigious award celebrates designs that showcase technical and creative excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
MGY Base is a testament to the power of innovative design in creating spaces that go beyond traditional office environments. It serves as an inspiration for companies looking to create unique and engaging workplaces that prioritize collaboration and creativity.
